Generate a Google Maps API Key for Your Website

1. Head to this link and click on Get Started in the top right-hand corner.

2. You will be prompted to set up a billing account.
Google requires you to enable billing and associate it with all of your Google Maps Platform projects. As Google is a third party we recommend that you set a spending quota on your Google account to ensure that you do not get charged for these Maps.

3. Select your country, agree to the terms of service and once you have filled in all of the required fields, click on Start My Free Trial.

4. Once you have enabled billing, head to the following link to Create a New Project.

5. Give your project a name and Create.

6. After creating your new Project, click on 'SELECT PROJECT' in the pop up in the top right hand corner and click on 'Go to APIs overview'

7. Navigate to Credentials

8. You should now see YOUR API KEY. Copy the API Key and paste this into the 'Google Maps API Key' field under Global Settings in the Zenu Web Builder.

9. Ensure the following two checkboxes are ticked:

- Enable all Google Maps APIs for this project

- Create budget alerts to help me stay on top of my spending and notify me when I am about to exceed the $200 monthly Google Maps credit

10. Click on GO TO GOOGLE MAPS PLATFORM.

11. Select restriction type: 
HTTP referrers (websites)

12. In the 'Refferer' field enter *.zenu.com.au/* and click 'RESTRICT KEY'

13. Navigate to Credentials on the left hand side.

14. Click on the restricted API key you just created.

15. Underneath Website restrictions, click on ADD and enter in all of your domain names that will be used for the website in the following format (one per line). EG: 

www.mydomain.com.au
mydomain.com.au
*.mydomain.com.au/*

Please note if you have multiple domain names for your website, enter each domain name as above on a new line. Press ADD to enter new lines.

16. Leave API restrictions set to 'Don't restrict key' and Save.


Once you have completed the above steps, please make a note of which Google Account including email address was used to create this and then you are all done.
